Aleksa's Birthday

We had the baby's first birthday party on Saturday......we had such a good time! She had a lot of guests and got A TON of gifts! I will post some pictures shortly. Thank you to everyone who came and for those who couldn't make it, we still love you:)



I did well.....I really thought I would cry, but I didn't...I almost did during Happy Birthday, but held back so that no one made fun of me! I can't believe that my baby girl is 1 already! It just blows my mind! Thanks mom for reminding me that I get to do this again next year! LOL.....anyway, look for the pictures soon.....love to you all!

My Mommy

OK....so for those who don't know, my mom is in the hospital. For about a year now she has been suffering from very bad migraine headaches - she even passed out once in the kitchen and my dad had to take her to the hospital. Well, she had a procedure done a while back and found out that she had a small hole in her heart that may have been attributing to the headaches, but her doctor decided not to do anything about it. She had an MRI done and went to the neurologist on Wednesday. He told her that he found 3 spots on her brain....and then that same night at my house, something happened. She said she was dizzy and all of the sudden she started talking nonsense. Like she was confused. She was reversing words and letters, calling Aleksa Sparky...it was very strange. I asked her what was wrong and she said she was just tired. Anyway, Thursday, she called my dad really upset from work saying her head was hurting her bad, so my dad took her to the hospital. They determined that what she was going through on Wednesday was a mini stroke...scared the hell out of me! Now they are saying that the hole DOES play a part in both the strokes and the migraines and they are hopefully going to fix it while she is in the hospital. Please pray for mommy......Lord knows I am!

Housing Blues.....

OK, so we moved into the house of our dreams two years ago…couldn’t have found a better location and so happy with the house as a whole! So, our lease was up as of February 28th and when I went to pay the rent, I let the realtor know we were interested in renewing our lease again……and then I got the call from HELL! Apparently, they guy who owns our house signed some ridiculous mortgage that has an adjustable rate that started at 7.375%....so now he can’t afford to pay the mortgage anymore and he is letting the house go into foreclosure OR selling the house as a short sale. SO…..now I am 5 months pregnant and have the added stress of trying to find a place for my family to move within the next 3-6 months (although the realtor told me it could be a year before anything happens, she called me today and told me that she is putting a lockbox on our door - YIPPEE). Buying a house doesn’t seem to be an option right now and the choices for moving are SLIM SLIM SLIM for what we need. I got another call from our realtor today telling us that there is a house opening up in mid-April in our neighborhood, so we may look at that sometime soon (and hopefully if we have to move, this house will work for us), but other than that, it’s all up in the air! I just don’t understand what in the world is going on with our economy today! Can we just catch a break already???

Our newest addition!

Well, we found out on Thursday, February 26, 2009, that our newest addition is going to be a boy! I cried when Kourtney told me...Nathaniel let out a "Yessssssss".......Daddy couldn't even speak......and Kaylee was indifferent (she just wanted a healthy baby since she got her baby sister the first time). Chad and I have already bought him an outfit (a preemie one in case he is small like Aleksa was), his first pair of Nikes, and a couple fo onesies. I also bought my husband a surprise that is being shipped to his job hopefully this week.....Shhhhh....I dont' want him to know yet! Since this is going to be our last child, we are blessed to be having a boy. Now we have 2 of each and the perfect family. I hope to have a sonogram picture or two uploaded before too much longer for all to see! He is flexing his muscles in one photo - vanity runs in the Sheffield male genes...lol!

First time blogging....lol....

Well, I signed up for this because a friend of mine has it and I thought it would be easier for those far away (as well as close) to keep up the happenings of our family:) I will try to get on here as much as possible to add to our lives....stay tuned:)
